My sister Jessy spent the night on our couch last night. She does this often, because when she’s visiting friends in the area, she’d often rather stay here and drive home well-rested in the morning than try to make the two-hour trip late at night, and we don’t mind at all. So when I came into the living room this morning to see her fast asleep, I wasn’t surprised. I just began my morning routine, starting the coffee, a little quieter than usual.
The girls, similarly, were considerate of their sleeping aunt when they came downstairs. Bug walked directly up to her, placed her beloved stuffed Duckie into her arms, and backed off. Because everyone needs a Duckie for sound sleeping. Lou climbed up onto the couch at Jessy’s feet, tucked her legs under my sister, and proceeded to lecture the dog, who was jumping at Jessy’s elbow in hopes of a pat. “No NO, Roofet! Roofet, get DOWN! Roofet, Jessy SLEEPING!” All at the top of her lungs.
Because she knows Jessy would like to sleep late.
